Well, this has been the question ever since skipper virat kohli returned to India after the 1st test in the on going series. It is evident that injuries have it the Indian camp and it would take a little more effort for them to compete in the last test at ‘Gabba’. With the recent injury of Ravindra Jadeja it would be difficult for anyone to fill his shoes in the playing XI as he is ruled out from the current series till the England tour.
With the coming test match on 15th January It would be a very important task for stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane to select his team and get the combinations right for the gabba test. With all the constraints it will be difficult to make a proper combination.
What could be an Ideal Playing XI for India in 4th test?
1.The one and only positive thing that has happened for Team India is Both the Openers(Gill and Rohit) are in form and will have most of the responsibility on Rohit Sharma especially.
2.Pujara,who is having a finger injury and is on pain killers will not be that impactful but is definitely in condition to play at No.3.
3. Then Skipper Ajinkya rahane ideal for No.4 as he has had a good enough test series with a 100 as well.
4. Another player who is prone to injury is rishabh Pant of his Arm, who is also on High dosage of pain-killers.He can be used as a specialist batsmen while wriddiman saha can be the wicket-keeper.
5.if we consider a ‘like to like’ replacement then Washington sundar might be up for Ravindra Jadeja if an experienced player like shardul thakur can be a cover-up for both jadeja and bumrah, as Jasprit bumrah is also not sure of his availability in 4th test due to abdominal strain.
6.Another Option to strengthen the bowling department if Bumrah doesn’t make it in for the 4th test Will be to make T.Natrajan his Debut as he has had a successful ODI and T20 series.
IDEAL PLAYING XI FOR 4TH TEST:
2. Rohit Sharma
6. Wriddiman saha
8.washington Sundar/ shardul thakur
9. Mohammed Siraj
11. T.Natrajan/Jasprit Bumrah
Overall it will definitely impact and the absence will be felt but if the replacement Options can put on Good Show while batting and bowling then it will put Team India in a very strong position and will pave the way for victory Also, but yes! there’s still hope with the current team.
